Hello crafty friends!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have a cheerful card to share today. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My creative friend <a href="https://cards.heathertelford.com/" target="_blank">Heather Telford </a>suggested I enter it in the <a href="https://foiledfox.com/birthday-chicks-in-a-trio-of-color/#more-24049" target="_blank">Foiled Fox's current challenge</a>, so here goes:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFI7k-tC2LqiU3SZGpkj1f19hhm7B_Q8x4pvH2_mEa-udrKZ3D6LkQ9y28k1jwxni9hsTEUyHGFEsaAyKHACf2T0FWQoyFl9VHMSmTGqjjCB1LuHwdBR-HDrW7StLpgKyBil_r8y9Tdu4/s1600/Anniv+card.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFI7k-tC2LqiU3SZGpkj1f19hhm7B_Q8x4pvH2_mEa-udrKZ3D6LkQ9y28k1jwxni9hsTEUyHGFEsaAyKHACf2T0FWQoyFl9VHMSmTGqjjCB1LuHwdBR-HDrW7StLpgKyBil_r8y9Tdu4/s640/Anniv+card.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used the "Doodle Garden" background stamp from <a href="https://shop.catherinepooler.com/products/doodle-garden-background-stamp?utm_source=back-in-stock&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=stock-notification&utm_content=Doodle%20Garden%20Background%20Stamp&bis_id=jgAkND&variant=6073291702311" target="_blank">Catherine Pooler,</a> heat-set with WOW's "Silver Pearl" embossing powder onto water-colour card-stock.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Next, I wet the panel and <i>dropped</i> Distress inks into the various areas, picking the colour up with a water brush, and adding successive layers of colour. Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio and Wild Honey were the colours used. Further spritzing with water and Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist ensured lots of blending and shine.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The waterfall card designs was inspired by a recent Youtube post by <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivaaM0rCIrc" target="_blank">Ingrid Blackburn</a>. You can see a video of the inside elements on my <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/ByEUFw1ARkT/" target="_blank">Instagram post</a> @canadianliner.<br />

</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Enjoy the sunshine and flowers!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Hello there, crafty friends!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I'm back on the blog, playing along with <a href="https://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.com/2019/01/sketch-300.html" target="_blank">The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge,</a> at the invitation of my friend Michelle Stewart. It's the 300th sketch!!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Here's this week's design:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_C72JPCUcTGCKvgDssTo9akNyw8a7PQv9fhxvaDag7mnnIi9LdC-RTA-S8Mk4V8mSaCRqy9uSzNM6IP2u3W2AewDfqQA2EygOOOQmZ4b4ybf3DfcqOgDhrTHzE_sVrpqrsuxdxNBm6Tg/s1600/Sketch+300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="416" data-original-width="332" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_C72JPCUcTGCKvgDssTo9akNyw8a7PQv9fhxvaDag7mnnIi9LdC-RTA-S8Mk4V8mSaCRqy9uSzNM6IP2u3W2AewDfqQA2EygOOOQmZ4b4ybf3DfcqOgDhrTHzE_sVrpqrsuxdxNBm6Tg/s400/Sketch+300.jpg" width="318" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This past weekend, I've been at a scrap-booking retreat with my bestie crafty girl-friends in Wisconsin. So as I was doing lay-outs, I decided to use the sketch to create a scrapbook page, rather than a card, to demonstrate it's versatility. Here's what I came up with:</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDG7cuL51Z5J9OKOpu4bBZuxXHBzG0FBwBxL-SOgD_9p3MeIDLQePEdqZtIYRojTrsSlKF34ljVZuTMS-s_r9biclP2d5fmaoIHlx2_h5KW8GK3Rke59jx7oQjPRx_Vp99pMT5sne8syM/s1600/J+Bday.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1368" data-original-width="1166" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDG7cuL51Z5J9OKOpu4bBZuxXHBzG0FBwBxL-SOgD_9p3MeIDLQePEdqZtIYRojTrsSlKF34ljVZuTMS-s_r9biclP2d5fmaoIHlx2_h5KW8GK3Rke59jx7oQjPRx_Vp99pMT5sne8syM/s640/J+Bday.jpeg" width="544" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I first flipped the sketch as it suited the companion page better.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I incorporated the title and journaling box into the layered banner elements from the left and right. I also used a chipboard CTMH "complements" piece as one of those layers (TODAY).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I used a PML card for the "80, " covering up the original printed message with a stitched circle die, and then cutting out the little 3x4 card with another circle die, to suit the sketch.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This birthday was celebrated during a holiday in England with my parents, so I included the business card from the pub where we ate. Incorporating ephemera like that is a great reminder of the event.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Lastly, I cut a 4" circle as a place-holder for the photo of the birthday girl. I may make the eventual photo a little larger so it doesn't get lost amidst the other elements of the page.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Off you go, to see some inspiration from the other team members. <a href="https://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.com/2019/01/sketch-300.html" target="_blank">HERE</a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">If anyone's interested, I will happily include more lay-outs from this trip on the blog. I found using the colour theme from just one paper pack (with extra card stock and coordinated mix-in patterned paper) helped to tie the album together. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Happy crafting,</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Great to be back in the creative "saddle," thanks Michelle!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

A Little Update on Caring Hearts Card Drive
</h3>
<div class="post-header">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;">
Hi peeps. I've been getting a bunch of email lately asking about Caring
Hearts Card Drive. So, I thought I post here to answer everyone as well
as mentioning some changes to the card drive.<br />
<br />
Yes, I will hold the card drive again this year. This year, I am doing
the card drive in honor & in memory of Sean Wilkerson. He's Christy
Wilkerson's brother who passed away just this past week. If you
remember, last year, Christy helped with collecting the cards for the
card drive.<br />
<br />
Sean's family requested that people do act of kindness to others in his
memory, because Sean himself was a guy who did many kind things to
others and I couldn't think of a better way to honor that request than
by continuing this card drive in his memory.<br />
<br />
The card drive will start in October. Not right now. This is just an update.<br />
<br />
Now, I know many of you work in advance and I would like to mention that this year we requested that <b>people limit the card they send to maximum 100 cards per person</b>.<br />
<br />
Before anyone get upset, please let me explain my reason. A couple
months ago my one and only niece from my side of the family was
diagnosed with Leukemia. She is only 5 years old & currently going
through intensive chemo. I am planning to visit her in Singapore where
she's being treated.<br />
<br />
As you can imagine, this is devastating news for our family & we are rallying behind her to get her beat this.<br />
<br />
Also, I have business trip that required me to go out of the country
during the card drive. So, we decided to do this change to help keep
things manageable and to keep my sanity. My niece well being and being
with my family is my priority and yes, I have to maintain my full time
job as well.<br />
<br />
There are a lot of works behind the scene for the card drive and all my
helpers are doing this voluntarily outside our full time job, etc. The
only way we can continue is by making changes when necessary.<br />
<br />
I hope you all understand. This would be our 9 years doing the card rive
and I can't thank you enough for your continuous support. We have grown
so much from our 1st year. From only 750 cards to over 64,000 cards.<br />
<br />
Your contribution touch people lives whether we know them or not. Thank
you for your understanding and stay tune for the card drive announcement
on Oct. 1, 2018.<br />
<br />

Hello crafty friends!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Long time, no see.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Life has been super hectic since last autumn. </div>
<ul>
<li>We moved out of our house, packing most of it into storage.</li>
<li>I managed to find homes for the 6000 Christmas cards donated to the Caring Hearts Card Drive!!! Last delivery made December 21st.</li>
<li>We celebrated Christmas in a rental unit. Not the same but all together.</li>
<li>We moved into our new, beautiful condo.</li>
<li>We unpacked.</li>
<li>I've been working at three part-time jobs since January, moving offices once.</li>
</ul>
Now that spring has ALMOST sprung, I can start to get to some of those lower-down items on Maslow's hierarchy (remember Psychology 101) of which, sadly, crafting has been one...so first post of 2018. And what better theme than <b><span style="color: #990000;">CELEBRATIONS</span></b> :) <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<b>Canada Day</b>: One photo can make a statement. Keep the layout simple; mat the photo to set it off; add a few embellishments and bold sentiment. (Purchased paper and CTMH "Celebrate" die-cut, along with some hand-water-coloured die-cut leaves).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcHW3ZPKdcVCPgZSNJwvt8R3lL52_FtqWpgSH9EVqzzBiIXUXfVPCtueaRwXW_dy4eNptyGx2rN1WgjDGO_94Ozc6RRs3Tx8DK1CMfum8UwNP5w6RtP5jlUZqdx-RZy_ElapeEnEmhk6s/s1600/Strawberries.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="855" data-original-width="1600" height="342" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcHW3ZPKdcVCPgZSNJwvt8R3lL52_FtqWpgSH9EVqzzBiIXUXfVPCtueaRwXW_dy4eNptyGx2rN1WgjDGO_94Ozc6RRs3Tx8DK1CMfum8UwNP5w6RtP5jlUZqdx-RZy_ElapeEnEmhk6s/s640/Strawberries.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<b>Celebrating strawberries</b>...one of the best things about summer is fruit! Themed paper can emphasize your subject. A few hand-stamped embellishments reinforce the topic as well. (Patterned paper and die-cut letters from CTMH).<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Hello Crafty friends, </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This year's <a href="http://lingshappyplace.blogspot.ca/p/2017-caring-hearts-card-drive.html" target="_blank">Caring Hearts Card Drive</a> is wrapping up for 2017. Here in Canada, we received more cards than ever! A total of almost 9000. I spent all day yesterday with some volunteers and friends, sorting and boxing up the cards for mail and hand delivery (thank you SO MUCH, Carole and the crew at<a href="http://www.cropawhile.ca/" target="_blank"> Crop-a-While</a>) . But we still have many more that need a home... <b>If you know of a nursing home in your area which would enjoy receiving the cards to distribute to their residents, please let me know</b>. It is especially meaningful if you have a connection with someone there--a family member who is a resident, or if you know someone who works at the home. We hear that the staff enjoy looking at the cards almost as much as the seniors who receive them!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Here in Ottawa, we also received some local publicity for the drive. See the story <a href="http://rogerstv.com/show?lid=12&rid=4&sid=7482&gid=286163" target="_blank">HERE</a>. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Thanks to all who contributed to make this year's drive such a success!</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Hello my crafty friends,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's time again for the <span style="color: #cc0000;"><b>Caring Hearts Card Drive</b></span>. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This event is now in its eighth year!!! Last year's response was overwhelming--64,000 hand-made Christmas and holiday cards donated and distributed to nursing home residents in the United States, Canada, Australia and Great Britain. Vera Yates, the true heart 💓 behind the drive, is willing to do it again. You can check out all the details <span style="color: #990000;"><a href="http://lingshappyplace.blogspot.ca/p/2017-caring-hearts-card-drive.html" target="_blank"><b>HERE</b> </a></span>on her blog.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
Briefly, the idea behind the drive is to brighten the holidays for residents of long-term care facilities by sending them signed, hand-made cards, with wishes from the creator. We all love to make beautiful things, why not let them have a heart-felt purpose; a way of paying it forward. I have had letters from some of the facilities to which we send cards, telling us how much they mean to the recipients. One gentleman, who has received cards several years in a row, asked "I wonder where my card will come from this year?" Please know your cards are cherished.<br />
<br />
In 2016, my partner in crime, Rita Andrews in Cochrane, Alberta, and I managed to send 5700 cards to 20 different seniors' residences in ten provinces, and two of the three territories. Several more nursing homes received cards along with pet therapy visits, thanks to our partnerships with PATS in Victoria BC, Blue Ribbon Therapy Dogs in Montreal, St. John's Ambulance Dog teams in Nova Scotia and PEI, and Ottawa Therapy Dogs, here in town. This year, being Canada's 150th anniversary of confederation, we're considering sending our cards even further afield. Some warm winter wishes from Canadians, sent across the world ❄. So, if you know of a nursing home, within Canada or abroad, that would like to receive Christmas cards over the holidays, please let me know, at <a href="mailto:canadian_liner@hotmail.com"><u>canadian_liner@hotmail.com</u></a>.<br />
<br />
Here's a card I made today, to get things started:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim-jbnuALOgKfdxWTYW0Ajc3uC5gOeoJEJKQjVIQ8yzk_V2lq0VdmqA5isTydycJSrQETRHFsppjllSOni506yn0IWKIQJz_xe5gXkLSCMePHJYMdrN5RvwOucuSY7JAypsNy8bqnc-Bs/s1600/Peace+on+earth.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1317" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim-jbnuALOgKfdxWTYW0Ajc3uC5gOeoJEJKQjVIQ8yzk_V2lq0VdmqA5isTydycJSrQETRHFsppjllSOni506yn0IWKIQJz_xe5gXkLSCMePHJYMdrN5RvwOucuSY7JAypsNy8bqnc-Bs/s640/Peace+on+earth.jpg" width="526" /></a></div>
Background sponged with Catherine Pooler inks, "earth" coloured with Ken Oliver Color Burst powders. Die-cut village from Ellen Hutson; banner die from Simon Says Stamp; sentiment from Lil' Inker Designs; starts are Nuovo drops.<br />
<br />
I look forward to seeing all the wonderful creations from the generous card makers out there.<br />
<br />
To my Canadian friends, Happy Thanksgiving 🦃<br />
<br />
Happy crafting,<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
Hello there, crafty friends!<br />
It's time for another <b>Cross Canada Blog Hop</b>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The challenge this month was to <span style="color: #274e13;"><span style="color: black;">create artwork whilst </span></span><b><span style="color: #274e13;">"using up the stash.</span></b>"
This idea really appealed to me--we are going to be moving house next
winter, "down-sizing," and I'm going to have to purge some of my
crafting supplies before then... <br />
<br />
<div class="_2cuy _3dgx _2vxa">
If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and visit <a href="http://mycreationswithmichelle.blogspot.com/2017/06/june-cross-canada-blog-hop-use-up-your.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: orange;"><b>Michelle</b></span> at My Creations with Michelle</a>. If you came from <a href="http://wp.me/p7TZ14-19A" target="_blank"><span style="color: orange;"><b>Nicky's blog </b></span></a>then you are in the right place! </div>
<div class="_2cuy _3dgx _2vxa">
<br /></div>
I decided to make a set of cards using some old bulk paper<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
and Close To My Heart's "Wishes" card-making how-to book. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This manual features a variety of cards in several different sizes. I used the instructions for one of the card-making workshops.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
This requires no the mental effort at all: just choose two identical sheets of patterned paper and three more solid coordinating card-stock sheets. The zip strip on the CTMH paper makes this easy; the ink colours are specified, so it was just a question of locating those colours amidst the stash of cardstock. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Qoc6oJfSlMFEkvfYOgI9qljN7LC8y0Vg60N7B5RIMXopuP_cYLVvnvaIMNqvpG0ez84ZWdtyQ6RguasY3frKqk2m8EvdqXCQC4KPxAvMNm9KkP7Pp2XAWv148JqgL3DjubD-YJsNCbw/s1600/Paper+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Qoc6oJfSlMFEkvfYOgI9qljN7LC8y0Vg60N7B5RIMXopuP_cYLVvnvaIMNqvpG0ez84ZWdtyQ6RguasY3frKqk2m8EvdqXCQC4KPxAvMNm9KkP7Pp2XAWv148JqgL3DjubD-YJsNCbw/s640/Paper+2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
The patterned paper was <span style="color: #38761d;"><b>Kaleidoscope</b></span> from a couple of years ago.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Details on how to cut up all the paper are given, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5OgWPdewxRi8Z6kdc2Q2j3RViwTgAkoJiP0SBNVQgGo2HxFoYlYi6rOtd1ip5b_8dhnF-QJl3u8kIxUsc9XlOzhK3-cjXpgCtNa_pubeWa9iccLtzil0PB4FQtzbYRK_1C_8rmPAF1W0/s1600/IMG_2076.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1516" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5OgWPdewxRi8Z6kdc2Q2j3RViwTgAkoJiP0SBNVQgGo2HxFoYlYi6rOtd1ip5b_8dhnF-QJl3u8kIxUsc9XlOzhK3-cjXpgCtNa_pubeWa9iccLtzil0PB4FQtzbYRK_1C_8rmPAF1W0/s640/IMG_2076.jpg" width="606" /></a></div>
along with diagrams and step-by-step instructions on how to assemble all those pieces of paper back together. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaKFf5oTXlgcP_GMf33OmNQeG7cAjsjQZrNMb38Cltk6BZ-Fr0s0nCMbiOw1gKf5Mjr18edBISIIoa0p1peayGZZfTkXDgpuurk2kB8jwXKWvtXJ7X4ojKXvDL-jAl-Btli_6air58iRk/s1600/Paper+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaKFf5oTXlgcP_GMf33OmNQeG7cAjsjQZrNMb38Cltk6BZ-Fr0s0nCMbiOw1gKf5Mjr18edBISIIoa0p1peayGZZfTkXDgpuurk2kB8jwXKWvtXJ7X4ojKXvDL-jAl-Btli_6air58iRk/s640/Paper+%25281%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
The card-making workshop on Page 68 makes 20 cards, two each of 10 designs. With CTMH's double-sided paper, you can choose which side to feature on any given card. I tried to limit myself to just three stamp sets for sentiments and decoration.<br />
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Further items needed include card bases for A2 size cards, ink pads, and some dies. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I also managed to use up a bunch of embellishment items, like rick-rack (from a looooong time ago), gems, sequins, etc. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For each design, I made one card as indicated, then changed things up a bit for the second one, to demonstrate the versatility of these designs.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Let me know which is your favorite! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiscSMJ1wFTHjBxrXztDY2JrFyXy-Fiy1crVZQ8jfBkr71YnJCLCT9eg3ut6fqlo9f9pFiGvTQc-yPH4bwMUG3pt7TPXAFnkwnNGd0wOJteX289fwV3zODzq64leqptE5xZFAqgJNeXZwI/s1600/%25231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1044" data-original-width="1600" height="416" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiscSMJ1wFTHjBxrXztDY2JrFyXy-Fiy1crVZQ8jfBkr71YnJCLCT9eg3ut6fqlo9f9pFiGvTQc-yPH4bwMUG3pt7TPXAFnkwnNGd0wOJteX289fwV3zODzq64leqptE5xZFAqgJNeXZwI/s640/%25231.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Card #1</b> is meant to be vertical, as is the card on the left. I used the stamp set C1605 <i>Happy to Be Friends, </i>which has many useful sentiments. The second version is landscape orientation, featuring the <i>Happy Birthday</i> die. I applied some yellow ink to white card stock with a sponge dauber before cutting out the words, and inlaid them in the green layer.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbSohJ47C0sbJcn9B59_I31mhVjc8UdviqIqiwkAWuz0WaXLXdrkyhrfwKD0ErEjGtoMZQ_DVLyoBpFi8bd_sBDVqhsFrNtDPBd8nBJKbsHIp4y5GmIw_6nIcK7igRaRCZn5S1HcBwD9Y/s1600/%25232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1014" data-original-width="1600" height="404" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbSohJ47C0sbJcn9B59_I31mhVjc8UdviqIqiwkAWuz0WaXLXdrkyhrfwKD0ErEjGtoMZQ_DVLyoBpFi8bd_sBDVqhsFrNtDPBd8nBJKbsHIp4y5GmIw_6nIcK7igRaRCZn5S1HcBwD9Y/s640/%25232.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<b>Card #2 </b>features the dotted zip-strip, some plain card stock strips, and the <i>Hello </i>and <i>Thanks </i>word<i> </i>dies. I cut the <i>Thanks</i> out of craft foam, for some added dimension. The die worked perfectly for cutting that thickness of material.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrT2DnqytWDHyIuMrvoQtg2uvqq1dxZSpBykov8Q2TeVQ099TWQk9EFHK9Mb6SIQ09sun19G7ivk0On8_Vd96ZHOPJnPI6ZqTYG4T822UWjnj0J7pXKS7R5Kha5A08sna7NxgipWQfIuE/s1600/%25233.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1059" data-original-width="1600" height="422" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrT2DnqytWDHyIuMrvoQtg2uvqq1dxZSpBykov8Q2TeVQ099TWQk9EFHK9Mb6SIQ09sun19G7ivk0On8_Vd96ZHOPJnPI6ZqTYG4T822UWjnj0J7pXKS7R5Kha5A08sna7NxgipWQfIuE/s640/%25233.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<b>Card #3</b>. I added some glitter gems and old buttons. The <i>Rustic Flowers </i>stamp set, D1186 is the first CTMH stamp set I ever bought!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIAvLyNnlDlHo-oTq-6ky-a7DbQ3IxDYeyeVN8s6l6oZVg6KZyPE51adQdrYQmqUhxtwiOK0ZYoHBEmdxj3tx0-32Mh9Y5gATYGWyT2NAmBzEAXnpp2Ek8xWwN-mQ8XSZcSlU1UKG-X0g/s1600/%25234.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1018" data-original-width="1600" height="406" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIAvLyNnlDlHo-oTq-6ky-a7DbQ3IxDYeyeVN8s6l6oZVg6KZyPE51adQdrYQmqUhxtwiOK0ZYoHBEmdxj3tx0-32Mh9Y5gATYGWyT2NAmBzEAXnpp2Ek8xWwN-mQ8XSZcSlU1UKG-X0g/s640/%25234.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<b>Card #4 </b>demonstrates how you can use the same basic pieces to make completely different designs. I added a white square and purple mat to the second card, along with more of the zip-strip. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqunDZjQAfFysPkNhPRw-vUICfvKg19Stm-Dit4u0wk2SjgLMNUHvk5XfrumVwLghNKQi2-h_4iJMHksylbbuMqBZyJipoioIbwWlfzt7HIBUeGYJxu7RQvKtonP4StcEk0usk3yqZGLY/s1600/%25235.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1110" data-original-width="1600" height="442" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqunDZjQAfFysPkNhPRw-vUICfvKg19Stm-Dit4u0wk2SjgLMNUHvk5XfrumVwLghNKQi2-h_4iJMHksylbbuMqBZyJipoioIbwWlfzt7HIBUeGYJxu7RQvKtonP4StcEk0usk3yqZGLY/s640/%25235.jpg" width="640" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Card #5. </b>Adding some sponged colour behind the sentiment makes it pop, as well as tying it into the bokeh circles on the patterned paper base. I cut the small coral heart from two strips of shimmer trim stuck together onto printer paper. Do you remember those old corduroy brads? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPihGnjMagEfQZrWjannUh8Ng-_wCXG7E7X6CbcaZ5V6IGSec9XUaKG4M0ztFh-MAxkDXvMhkDfL5jaFXbFEvIoYKW0mMI8gKziP3KNsjMPgVqD7G_uHdhhlMIoauRN3AM4Yl4HQzWkso/s1600/%25236.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="776" data-original-width="1600" height="310" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPihGnjMagEfQZrWjannUh8Ng-_wCXG7E7X6CbcaZ5V6IGSec9XUaKG4M0ztFh-MAxkDXvMhkDfL5jaFXbFEvIoYKW0mMI8gKziP3KNsjMPgVqD7G_uHdhhlMIoauRN3AM4Yl4HQzWkso/s640/%25236.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<b>Card #6.</b> I <span style="color: #cc0000;">LOVE</span> the <i>Hugs & Kisses</i> die from Seasonal Expressions 1! It's so cheery:) Again, I added some shading to white cardstock before cutting out the die, and inlaid the pieces into the green strip, then added coordinating rick-rack. The sentiment comes from D1708 <i>Sending Smiles</i> available with the Cricut bundle.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEDsnjPMlBGFGKTA7yt1WusVErNHeepsZ-IYIxooaY3dSCUh2acM4oQw3nMFGHlXbSi-fP9yPP51KEGz1JkNOUryM_2Hohltsccem7rA602VwMhLITZ6mIGZvTNA_XlqbGrLF5lH8C4gI/s1600/%25237.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1133" data-original-width="1600" height="452" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEDsnjPMlBGFGKTA7yt1WusVErNHeepsZ-IYIxooaY3dSCUh2acM4oQw3nMFGHlXbSi-fP9yPP51KEGz1JkNOUryM_2Hohltsccem7rA602VwMhLITZ6mIGZvTNA_XlqbGrLF5lH8C4gI/s640/%25237.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<b>Card #7 </b>For this card, I cut down the card base to make a 4.25" square card, and embossed the pink panel with a vine embossing folder. The stitched ribbon is REALLY old, but still pretty. I stamped a cascade of flowers across the second card, using the <i>Rustic Flowers</i> stamps.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpzPHOqMSv3wOaw3CDEGaNPAQvCbzdVaknHB8EGi59EElgzTHOLYaGwlNCRFT1EEsIZeQXkZu36qsPsCtrZG8Z7u3Y-XQa5cSL-XueZnHxnhsDHc4g7lQ_xFa2zuvaPRijNnJo2vFOTrU/s1600/%25238.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1041" data-original-width="1600" height="416" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpzPHOqMSv3wOaw3CDEGaNPAQvCbzdVaknHB8EGi59EElgzTHOLYaGwlNCRFT1EEsIZeQXkZu36qsPsCtrZG8Z7u3Y-XQa5cSL-XueZnHxnhsDHc4g7lQ_xFa2zuvaPRijNnJo2vFOTrU/s640/%25238.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<b>Card #8. </b>Added a large stamped daisy and vellum vine die-cut, and some old glitter gems.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCf2NvB8MdeRq0Exd3fD1OsndZ5J4xEbKDwZKywgqAcoRT__a-ZHnh_cVNTHyR5Xa4NRTir_U3mIDzIuMo3duMCqYYQMvfqyvD7-x3bI-LGSeXsHJwh3Lr8dcjPvp2caymIvboWzj1XB0/s1600/%25239.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1146" data-original-width="1600" height="458" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCf2NvB8MdeRq0Exd3fD1OsndZ5J4xEbKDwZKywgqAcoRT__a-ZHnh_cVNTHyR5Xa4NRTir_U3mIDzIuMo3duMCqYYQMvfqyvD7-x3bI-LGSeXsHJwh3Lr8dcjPvp2caymIvboWzj1XB0/s640/%25239.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<b>Card #9. </b>I was getting a little bored of the patterned paper, but remembered I had the 6x6 sample swatches from <b><span style="color: #38761d;">Kaleidoscope. </span></b><span style="color: #38761d;"><span style="color: black;">I switched out a strip from another paper in the pack for the central panel, and added a die-cut heart. The left the centre of the heart blank, so I can add an appropriate sentiment later on.</span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPsYfUyGkFavYe-Uj95MD8KxdxlwchTA6ZJ-Vbz5l4gk0eZJtarRs5XH_kYocsndeFRvoBodQr57QsQLdLBNYAYUDExjURSrwvIcOOV0L1yudnwLQU2a3a8AFpkccbkp_z8S9iZfYP42k/s1600/%252310.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1007" data-original-width="1600" height="402" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPsYfUyGkFavYe-Uj95MD8KxdxlwchTA6ZJ-Vbz5l4gk0eZJtarRs5XH_kYocsndeFRvoBodQr57QsQLdLBNYAYUDExjURSrwvIcOOV0L1yudnwLQU2a3a8AFpkccbkp_z8S9iZfYP42k/s640/%252310.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="color: #38761d;"><span style="color: black;"> <b>Card #10</b> has a cut-away front panel, with a cute slotted tab, to hold it closed. One of CTMH's velcro dots would work just as well. For the second card, I used some shimmer trim behind the <i>Happy Birthday</i> die this time, for added sparkle.</span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="color: #38761d;"><span style="color: black;"> </span></span><br />
In the end, I only used up about 6 sheets of paper and some ancient embellishments... Not such a stash-buster! but I have some wonderful cards to use or give away, and I had a blast making them.</div>

Hello crafty friends!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here in Canada we are enjoying a beautiful long weekend of spring weather, barbecuing, cycling, admiring tulips, etc.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So why am I posting a Christmas card, you ask?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Over at <b><a href="http://catherinepooler.com/2017/05/15/win-the-next-stamp-of-approval-collection/" target="_blank">Stamp Nation</a></b>, there is a contest going on. You enter by posting a card made with Stamp Nation goodies, and ask your friends to vote for your entry.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is a cute card I designed last Christmas for the Caring Hearts Card Drive. It features the candy-cane strip background, stamped tone-on-tone and heat-embossed with clear powder, the frame die and sentiment from the Candy Cane lane collection, and finally, that adorable deer. We <b>dearly</b> love our even-toed ungulates (I had to look that up on Wikipedia) here in Canada: caribou, elk, moose, and of course, reindeer (although I think they <u>may</u> live in Scandinavia).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So get outside and enjoy the sun, but first visit <a href="http://catherinepooler.com/2017/05/15/win-the-next-stamp-of-approval-collection/" target="_blank">THIS BLOG</a> to vote for our cute friend.<br />

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This month, Close to My Heart released its latest catalogue, Seasonal Expressions 2. <div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I chose to feature<b><span style="color: #990000;"> Jack</span></b>. As the mother of three boys (and yes, even my dog is a male) I'm always happy to find products for creating more masculine-themed projects. Unicorns and fairies just don't cut it... Jack features a strong colour palette of red, black, grey and green, and some beautiful plaid patterns. There is also a bit of a lumberjack theme going on, which is PERFECT for the CFL team in my town, The Ottawa Red-Blacks, and their mascot, Big Joe Mufferaw.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> Ottawa will host the Grey Cup this autumn, and I'm sure I'll have some photos to archive from that event.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This release includes this BEARY cute stamp and die set. I used the bear claw paper with the zip-strip attached to make a backdrop for the bear. The "earth" is black glitter paper. The grey plaid mat is a PictureMyLife card from the paper pack. I popped up the bear's snout and the banner with foam tape, folded his ears forward for some dimension and gave the nose and eyes some shine with Liquid Glass. Here's the inside of the card:</span><br />

I cut strips of paper in varying widths, as well as some of the zip-strips, and applied them to a piece of card stock which had been covered in double-sided tape. Then I ran the piece through my BigShot with a retired embossing folder. I sanded the edges and the embossed hearts for a worn look. The sentiment comes from the Operation Smile stamp set, <b>True Love</b>, and the black glitter heart is cut using the <b>Heart</b> Thin-cuts. Love the lumberjack paper! Reminds me of the NHL during the play-offs...</span></span></span></span><br />

Good morning, crafty friends.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I created this graduation card for my son following a Stamp Nation challenge.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It looks deceptively simple, but contains a surprise.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtKSRQkrPMguW4xPFa9bw6lNPKfdB1ZgzN_Nrftnh4As2cAeJY6LYF4Wkmxvh4xvle4JesN-dRm6NNE8Afjdu-h_JvX6PLkxQBgo3CJ3vpg3FEqnx6puV4_-BMviWsV86z0QWsmu5xtYE/s1600/J+BDay.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="522" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtKSRQkrPMguW4xPFa9bw6lNPKfdB1ZgzN_Nrftnh4As2cAeJY6LYF4Wkmxvh4xvle4JesN-dRm6NNE8Afjdu-h_JvX6PLkxQBgo3CJ3vpg3FEqnx6puV4_-BMviWsV86z0QWsmu5xtYE/s640/J+BDay.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It also fits the current code word at <b><a href="http://addictedtocas.blogspot.ca/2017/04/challenge-109-rainbow.html">Addicted to CAS</a></b>, which is RAINBOW!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFfBjSfrl7KumhkAEP775e26gVXADZZIVSwnV2L7FvXWnA2Sf8LZQ0PrImggX-fOlWYiouHvLcj2ujxKxo5bgsIBIaiLyecvtAoR3i9op6iWyfNDa4WbvNT9eo3rhPN0eJ_P8uMIh5nac/s1600/ATCAS%252B-%252Bcode%252Bword%252Brainbow.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFfBjSfrl7KumhkAEP775e26gVXADZZIVSwnV2L7FvXWnA2Sf8LZQ0PrImggX-fOlWYiouHvLcj2ujxKxo5bgsIBIaiLyecvtAoR3i9op6iWyfNDa4WbvNT9eo3rhPN0eJ_P8uMIh5nac/s1600/ATCAS%252B-%252Bcode%252Bword%252Brainbow.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You will note I didn't use the entire seven-colour palette for a proper rainbow. I focused on my son's favorite colours, one of which is purple. I used Catherine Pooler inks, which work wonderfully for blending. I masked off the area for the rainbow and applied ink with a foam blending-tool. Next I used the MISTI to add the sentiment in black ink. I added thin strips of black cardstock to define the rainbow section. A few stars and sequins hide some smudges!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's the inside:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI0xZ1cJJJWIJxMY2KeSXHLBtIUMNWirk_ikWG5xblkYpndlwNi8MicRZiXEepDi4ajm9W2upxYvSuO8SutSNw1qgfjWyCu-VpnZ-HpU3QrOfLo3C7Od9ZIyE57ETVMyLqwByo9fdq6bA/s1600/THree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="398" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI0xZ1cJJJWIJxMY2KeSXHLBtIUMNWirk_ikWG5xblkYpndlwNi8MicRZiXEepDi4ajm9W2upxYvSuO8SutSNw1qgfjWyCu-VpnZ-HpU3QrOfLo3C7Od9ZIyE57ETVMyLqwByo9fdq6bA/s400/THree.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
An explosion of sentiments and fire-work-ish images.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The challenge at <a href="http://addictedtocas.blogspot.ca/2017/04/challenge-109-rainbow.html"><b>Addicted to CAS</b></a> runs for another week--make sure to check it out. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Hello there, crafty friends!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Spring has finally sprung here in Ontario, just in time for the lovely long Easter weekend.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Canadian Close to My Heart consultants are celebrating with a blog hop</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
featuring ShinHan Twin-Touch alcohol markers.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you've come from<a href="http://fun2cre8.blogspot.ca/2017/04/cross-canada-blog-hop-april.html" target="_blank"><b> Dominique's blog</b></a>, you are on the right track. If you'd like to start at the beginning, go to <a href="http://mycreationswithmichelle.blogspot.com/2017/04/april-cross-canada-blog-hop-shinhan.html" target="_blank"><b>Michelle's blog</b></a> where you will find the entire list of participants. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have loved playing with alcohol markers since taking a Copic colouring course a few years back.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Close to My Heart sells 24 colours of the ShinHan Twin-Touch markers, along with a colourless blender pen; they work just as well as Copics for many colouring effects.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW2B2FOOjP6_1HIOJruMb0FqZgbc61z_NXgVUbWQWE4oNqDuPAX_Ib0KHaJv0gUN9NhOHY0TwRlvGxypbB8jLpaheT1CNppHyU75u9-ha4AlXY0BO0GgCZMpdvVQn3N8U8wF1MTyMDVm8/s1600/Bunny+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW2B2FOOjP6_1HIOJruMb0FqZgbc61z_NXgVUbWQWE4oNqDuPAX_Ib0KHaJv0gUN9NhOHY0TwRlvGxypbB8jLpaheT1CNppHyU75u9-ha4AlXY0BO0GgCZMpdvVQn3N8U8wF1MTyMDVm8/s640/Bunny+2.jpg" width="490" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
On today's card, I'm showcasing a couple of different techniques: </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1) No need to worry about not having just the right marker for your project; you can <b>blend</b> <b>two colours</b> together without contaminating either marker.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Scribble the darker shade onto an acrylic stamping block. This functions as your palette.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSVtdREHYusD8hNnNubqG-DsctyWUDjxnbGixXHbjBk6G8j7VsV9Vk4f7zQqbg3tsIbx6afdfvXUsIUai9du_xUOjRJScpbEg14O5Hee2hYaVfpRDOznpPe5RaRMkcsW1rc5N3f-8JFEo/s1600/Marker+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSVtdREHYusD8hNnNubqG-DsctyWUDjxnbGixXHbjBk6G8j7VsV9Vk4f7zQqbg3tsIbx6afdfvXUsIUai9du_xUOjRJScpbEg14O5Hee2hYaVfpRDOznpPe5RaRMkcsW1rc5N3f-8JFEo/s400/Marker+2.jpg" width="400" /></a> <br />
Pick up the colour on the block with the lighter shade of marker; you will get an intermediate shade to add to your project. To clean the lighter marker, just use it on white card stock until the colour runs true again.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGmoH45JHglsWuMcn77LV1kD0ujdNhDFhdkurOAUqBtG8uVVouOs3TtmbQ2o22lRiFhgUqJETcMQ5HQem06SZ7AJpXWvrhtF-eO8BomJtTQV7DEhxoaXRjgg5iChgDgkFBJ_DSpxMxa9o/s1600/Marker+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGmoH45JHglsWuMcn77LV1kD0ujdNhDFhdkurOAUqBtG8uVVouOs3TtmbQ2o22lRiFhgUqJETcMQ5HQem06SZ7AJpXWvrhtF-eO8BomJtTQV7DEhxoaXRjgg5iChgDgkFBJ_DSpxMxa9o/s400/Marker+1.jpg" width="400" /></a> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Example</u>: for the bunny's shirt, I coloured with Y22 Golden Yellow, then scribbled some YR24 Marigold onto my block. I picked up the darker orange colour with the yellow marker and used it to add shading to the image.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8KgsFvvQttk_jAYrY4LT72dSm3C7qUbMK_rLXp_KZDIS50AFSsGyi7AcSZfrKrlzlaIclPL54pULOKsnFZdElYJ7ZB-XMYmbcJ5l4fJn7FmDOeCsvZ7dDVZlTOlzs_oOEO3Ic5NycH_c/s1600/Bunny+1+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8KgsFvvQttk_jAYrY4LT72dSm3C7qUbMK_rLXp_KZDIS50AFSsGyi7AcSZfrKrlzlaIclPL54pULOKsnFZdElYJ7ZB-XMYmbcJ5l4fJn7FmDOeCsvZ7dDVZlTOlzs_oOEO3Ic5NycH_c/s400/Bunny+1+%25281%2529.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
I did the same with the bunny's shorts, using B68 Turquoise Blue and BG61 Peacock Green.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2) I also created a fun piece of patterned paper, using my markers to make matching <b>plaid</b>. I added adhesive to the back of a piece of white card stock and stuck it to my Versamat.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS10n-pi95Egq6cO11KPBNKefLCHCzM9l_ICOg-5oSdZM7mOkQc1sjTggq6OZD02KQRA5yhbRtzMfI0S1aHhUTMA4KidfsusoV_rYTZhxHkEAW1qWCoFrEEeoUNl4b9vomyyCMnOBRvMk/s1600/IMG_1914.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS10n-pi95Egq6cO11KPBNKefLCHCzM9l_ICOg-5oSdZM7mOkQc1sjTggq6OZD02KQRA5yhbRtzMfI0S1aHhUTMA4KidfsusoV_rYTZhxHkEAW1qWCoFrEEeoUNl4b9vomyyCMnOBRvMk/s400/IMG_1914.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the diagonal marks on the mat and the 14" ruler to draw parallel lines in Turquoise and Tender Pink. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieicKhGRxB6CGscKY6iz9NF3C9viiMIm6yF7j4bmCKnLqIOnMg-JLDUn5rLRtEoxK-qxkggqqJY-TRjKi4NbqPmq3KJD7YMBlRt4Ol8QKaawjo_aeprRsyJcOCD4la24WXh9iOuJljZIA/s1600/Plaid+2+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="340" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieicKhGRxB6CGscKY6iz9NF3C9viiMIm6yF7j4bmCKnLqIOnMg-JLDUn5rLRtEoxK-qxkggqqJY-TRjKi4NbqPmq3KJD7YMBlRt4Ol8QKaawjo_aeprRsyJcOCD4la24WXh9iOuJljZIA/s400/Plaid+2+%25281%2529.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Then I rotated the mat 90 degrees and drew lines in that orientation to complete the plaid.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz1nNIQJ7r7lXi1prqo8e6n22mMhEykps5dXlDHGok-Ubi5mlJQf-BgnOP3CwY9bqtTRGgKmmdghUHy1eJuSZeG3NIGzzNllhLSEcgNrY6_7YTtPl03vDW9K8eSodquDVOc9h8xXW8BSk/s1600/Plaid+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz1nNIQJ7r7lXi1prqo8e6n22mMhEykps5dXlDHGok-Ubi5mlJQf-BgnOP3CwY9bqtTRGgKmmdghUHy1eJuSZeG3NIGzzNllhLSEcgNrY6_7YTtPl03vDW9K8eSodquDVOc9h8xXW8BSk/s320/Plaid+4.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
The ShinHan markers have two ends: a fine bullet tip and a broad tip. You can create lines of different width depending on which side of the broad tip you drag over the paper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHRFDtpeVrpw5xN8HjUAJvMlXj2TKE2X5IUUdEujaFbDr1nEseasuAqubCylNSaiOaFIm8RpsjmcwoWpI8s4DEVFUdjI30rSX3_swuiEOS0jG-ZGDyZwLLJ_gjlpDybNAjY_R2AaMmRU4/s1600/Plaid+2+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHRFDtpeVrpw5xN8HjUAJvMlXj2TKE2X5IUUdEujaFbDr1nEseasuAqubCylNSaiOaFIm8RpsjmcwoWpI8s4DEVFUdjI30rSX3_swuiEOS0jG-ZGDyZwLLJ_gjlpDybNAjY_R2AaMmRU4/s400/Plaid+2+%25281%2529.jpg" width="333" /></a></div>
The speed with which you drag the marker across the paper will also have an effect--the slower you go, the more ink can sink into the paper, making a slightly wider line.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Break out your markers and give these techniques a try!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The next stop on the hop is <a href="http://kanatanewfpapercrafts.blogspot.ca/2017/04/april-cross-canada-blog-hop_15.html" target="_blank"><b>Sheena at Kanata Newf</b></a>.</div>

Please remember to leave comments and love as you hop, quick like a bunny!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Happy Easter,</div>

Good morning, crafty friends.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigNoOwBXmESiAQNl0NFzYSXfrCpDClyiqBb96ov77i2QFAwwwxaIM7iyO4KLq238TobMJY_p4kUyI3OGTP0IDNu_lIxUghzlh8ponOVcfOlrBlIIudVNKvWLK4tSuJf5AfxuDJ4v79CVc/s1600/FMS+%2523280-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="176" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigNoOwBXmESiAQNl0NFzYSXfrCpDClyiqBb96ov77i2QFAwwwxaIM7iyO4KLq238TobMJY_p4kUyI3OGTP0IDNu_lIxUghzlh8ponOVcfOlrBlIIudVNKvWLK4tSuJf5AfxuDJ4v79CVc/s320/FMS+%2523280-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
This post is a little late for the celebration, but last Thursday, April 6th, was <b>National Tartan Day</b> in Canada. It's not an official holiday, just an observance, and has been in effect since 2010. It commemorates the signing of a document of independence in Scotland in 1320. People of Scottish descent can celebrate and wear their family tartan!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've been playing around with plaid lately, with water colour paint and with alcohol markers. This is a paper version of the clan Macdonald tartan. It's much more beautiful in real life!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrJrNtvVVuag19uH72cfrk6fXkcejw2fVL5VZWuJZToe5H6-D4vdyghuQxlDkNUB5J-rX9APyCv5VoPBqii98kui0-hjaHRYO0Pd20c_OmXWFo4H47XYO4TNy4VE3KnK7Beef-m2M8tAc/s1600/Macdonald+tartan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="325" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrJrNtvVVuag19uH72cfrk6fXkcejw2fVL5VZWuJZToe5H6-D4vdyghuQxlDkNUB5J-rX9APyCv5VoPBqii98kui0-hjaHRYO0Pd20c_OmXWFo4H47XYO4TNy4VE3KnK7Beef-m2M8tAc/s400/Macdonald+tartan.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The inspiration this week over at <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.ca/2017/04/freshly-made-sketches-282-sketch-by.html" target="_blank"><b>Freshly Made Sketches</b></a> was all about squares.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisGdS1levEB5B9gfrzDt4ppgF5isW2D3yTwSv-X1CSkcqpHiR6uU7g7nNU9CfqBEuybskPGZ1BsgRz0rbqATE0ueSJPUi9-JP7IuWgTIDve9KbibyEWlSQSFZtLQhS3mLdImmzjdwBI5E/s1600/FMS282.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisGdS1levEB5B9gfrzDt4ppgF5isW2D3yTwSv-X1CSkcqpHiR6uU7g7nNU9CfqBEuybskPGZ1BsgRz0rbqATE0ueSJPUi9-JP7IuWgTIDve9KbibyEWlSQSFZtLQhS3mLdImmzjdwBI5E/s400/FMS282.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Plaids and tartans are definitely all about right angles! I decided to feature a piece of water-coloured plaid, with some of the stripes done with opalescent gold paint.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWm98Y-sQ3dmsmCY2Fb6EL-giern4K-8R0hmjWTOkXnYepgEuCKilhjTk9zkHxC1yZSFA7OeVllPlp_ADTexDVaGX28yfYThQMQiTdIBqIObRludmk8VXPlCSe11AV7W2GqAVDzOG_1vw/s1600/FMS+%2523280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWm98Y-sQ3dmsmCY2Fb6EL-giern4K-8R0hmjWTOkXnYepgEuCKilhjTk9zkHxC1yZSFA7OeVllPlp_ADTexDVaGX28yfYThQMQiTdIBqIObRludmk8VXPlCSe11AV7W2GqAVDzOG_1vw/s640/FMS+%2523280.jpg" width="598" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
All squares were cut with <a href="https://www.lilinkerdesigns.com/stitched-mats-squares/" target="_blank">Lil'Inker Designs</a>' Stitched Mats square dies, then attached to a 5" square card-base. Along with the water-colour panel, I cut squares from Close to My Hearts' fundamentals collection. These papers have white designs on one side, with embossing on the other. The sentiment is from <a href="https://shop.catherinepooler.com/collections/hello-world/products/hello-world-stamps" target="_blank">Catherine Pooler Designs'</a> "Hello World" stamp set. Pretty easy card to put together!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Good morning, crafty friends.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had to jump on board the<b><span style="color: purple;"> Distress Oxide ink</span></b> band-wagon after seeing several people's demonstration of their potential and: </div>
<ul>
<li>ordered a half dozen colours to try out;</li>
<li>discovered a bottle of Frisket, the masking fluid, probably purchased sometime in 2016 and never opened, under a pile of patterned paper on the craft table;</li>
<li>needed a new "miss you" card for my hubby's suitcase...</li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="color: #741b47;">All the right ingredients for an experiment</span></b>!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's my card:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDxbE92wqeQmFksQM-e9nPEFcIExO0EFFF8tTWS4wSgeFixFlm6FVHOmwQsoX3S_ufjgoTYA5dZDTt0AmKn4zigY6Fw-xKzXW3ptnim8EjlRjtZXtAxbcX2G8FGGMTft0kLD3u-X7DFu4/s1600/Beaker+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDxbE92wqeQmFksQM-e9nPEFcIExO0EFFF8tTWS4wSgeFixFlm6FVHOmwQsoX3S_ufjgoTYA5dZDTt0AmKn4zigY6Fw-xKzXW3ptnim8EjlRjtZXtAxbcX2G8FGGMTft0kLD3u-X7DFu4/s640/Beaker+2.jpg" width="486" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought this stamp set from Close to My Heart last year---my DH was a chemistry student when we met, so the sentiment is perfect!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started by stamping the beakers onto the card base with archival black ink. I used a paper mask to give the illusion of one beaker being behind the other.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then I covered them both, and the sentiment with the Frisket liquid. It's pretty easy to use, and dries translucent so you can see what is underneath.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then I went to town with three colours of Distress Oxide ink: spiced marmalade, broken china and cracked pistachio. I smooshed the ink onto a craft mat, spritzed with water and then dragged the card base through the ink. Dried it off and began again; added some splatters... Very satisfying and completely random. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once it looked like a small explosion, I rubbed off the Frisket and coloured the beakers with alcohol markers. Added some bubbles from the stamp set with Oxide inks. And coated the beakers with Liquid Glass so they'd look glassy.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I just love the result!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Good morning, crafty friends.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've been working on spring birthday cards and was inspired by a YouTube video from Jennifer McGuire this week, as well as the current <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.ca/2017/03/freshly-made-sketches-280-sketch-by-jen.html" target="_blank">Freshly Made Sketch</a>:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsROG7zNZGEOgbuGqNVRLPqzzVxcg_OS16jRxW7BhBjsB1OXfE-6JCorSAeQJFWrYAotffUeYxrSeEDF31oIVEJVCMeLAdxO0PLVWwsQ77nR8qmI41J2iFeEJIxi2ZwbVnt5Xy-1ZcHN8/s1600/FMS280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsROG7zNZGEOgbuGqNVRLPqzzVxcg_OS16jRxW7BhBjsB1OXfE-6JCorSAeQJFWrYAotffUeYxrSeEDF31oIVEJVCMeLAdxO0PLVWwsQ77nR8qmI41J2iFeEJIxi2ZwbVnt5Xy-1ZcHN8/s400/FMS280.jpg" width="285" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Jennifer was doing some ink-swiping with balloons. They certainly say "celebration," perfect for my 15-year-old niece's birthday (not too cutesy). The only balloon stamps I had were not big enough in scale for this sketch, so I decided to use patterned paper instead. I free-hand drew the balloons onto the paper with a coloured pencil and cut them out.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then I popped the one in front up with a spring, for dimension and playfulness.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIfvwZkeVC7gL8QvYUrN2FiF1JbvaUEQD8gIFawxWpni1j8bjskyeOZ6K5gyubm65W57ND_ss696pdjCTCMfMNy1bI_L0Z21Oyt9dpF7vUxPjjsLpT9RZj96BlYPi7m_hCf32iWBEGugQ/s1600/Balloon+3+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIfvwZkeVC7gL8QvYUrN2FiF1JbvaUEQD8gIFawxWpni1j8bjskyeOZ6K5gyubm65W57ND_ss696pdjCTCMfMNy1bI_L0Z21Oyt9dpF7vUxPjjsLpT9RZj96BlYPi7m_hCf32iWBEGugQ/s640/Balloon+3+%25281%2529.jpg" width="494" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used a well-loved Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background, which also serves as the sentiment. Some twine tied to the balloons completes this simple card.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Stop by the <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.ca/2017/03/freshly-made-sketches-280-sketch-by-jen.html" target="_blank">Freshly Made Sketches blog</a> for some more inspiration!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Have a crafty week,</div>

<b>A1192F</b>: I loved this font as well as the message: You make my heart happy!<br />
I used CTMH Thin-cuts dies (on sale this month at 25% off) to cut a heart-shaped opening into a water-coloured panel, and mounted it above the sentiment, using foam-tape for some added dimension and shading. The Thin-cut features a skinny border, which helps to frame the message.<br />

<b>C1660F</b>: This next card features mix-and-match sentiments for any celebration. I created an embossed background this time, inking the embossing folder to transfer colour to the de-bossed area and swiping a darker ink-pad over the embossed confetti to make it stand out. The balloons were cut from CTMH glitter paper and I coloured the balloon and sequin with a turquoise Shin-han Twin-touch alcohol marker, to match the rest of the design.<br />

<b>C1605F</b>: This last card features the very versatile "Happy to be Friends" stamp set. It also includes multiple sentiments which can be combined to wish a happy birthday or anniversary, express sympathy, or "just because." I combined the sentiment "Bonne Fête des Mères" with the March Stamp of the Month "Tea-riffic!" to create a cozy little card. The patterned floral paper is from the "Dreamin' Big" paper pack. I stamped the flower image onto the tea-cup and I coloured it to match the paper with alcohol markers.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I just received my "Late to the Party" Collection of inks from Catherine Pooler designs this week. I love all the shades of yellow and orange in the collection, and I was already in love with Fiesta Blue. Must be because they are such bright summery shades...</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I used a 6-inch stencil from KITE Artistic Stencils and Templates, called "funky squares," and sponged some Fiesta Blue ink to create a background in the circular area of the sketch. Earlier in the day, I had tried different ways to water-colour some butterflies from the "Butterfly Notes" stamp set, also from Catherine Pooler Designs. I ended up used Distress Ink minis to ink the periphery of the stamp, then spritzed it with water, mixing the colours a little more with a wet brush, before stamping on water-colour paper.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The sentiment was heat-embossed in white on Lagoon card stock, for the longer of the two horizontal elements. I applied Tutti Frutti ink direct-to-paper before cutting the "thanks" die. Both butterfly and sentiment are adhered with foam tape, for some dimension and shadow.</span></div>

Each key on this cartridge features a different flower with coordinating items. On this key, shown on page 45, there is a dimensional poppy, a wreath and vase, as well as a ribbon and title. But I've chosen the layered poppy. I used it to accent a pocket-page on my scrap-booking layout of November activities, which included Remembrance Day. Perfect! It would also make a lovely focal image for a sympathy card.</span><br />

Good morning, crafty friends!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This sketch features a large fish-tail tag. </div>
I made two cards following the sketch and am leaning towards the second, pink one. What do you think?<br />
Both cards feature new stamps and dies from <a href="http://shop.catherinepooler.com/collections/lovely-notes/products/wonderful-wreath-stamp-set" target="_blank">Stamp of Approval collections</a>, Candy Cane Lane and Lovely Notes (wreath).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8ryVpAM2onqZuHdtyTX1bEaFJKibfFsNtqInDM6jWf4Gh3x2hHU61ZQLk5HpXZ6r2ggjzWvzey8W2KI-yCWdDOLaEZO5_2RJUSknIcNDRFf2EBlqyxH-TiflTIXqiQpufUm_cTMg9eoU/s1600/IMG_8837.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8ryVpAM2onqZuHdtyTX1bEaFJKibfFsNtqInDM6jWf4Gh3x2hHU61ZQLk5HpXZ6r2ggjzWvzey8W2KI-yCWdDOLaEZO5_2RJUSknIcNDRFf2EBlqyxH-TiflTIXqiQpufUm_cTMg9eoU/s400/IMG_8837.jpg" width="325" /></a></div>
I heat-embossed the Lovely wreath in white on vellum, as I didn't want to lose the detail on the patterned tag. The pine cones and greeting are embossed on copper powder from WOW.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOcCq1p0xSlaRUbfPzN42aIH5WxAhWk9qFsjJt5kZwEiAgFV8Z1sci20lNn4wSEhl6XoSAoQ98hsGVScmtG1MhVGmyjLCJnYWbzxVk-9Ze6S-Te5y7vMa-lutN9nCgMVXSB7L52MgmUrs/s1600/IMG_8833.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOcCq1p0xSlaRUbfPzN42aIH5WxAhWk9qFsjJt5kZwEiAgFV8Z1sci20lNn4wSEhl6XoSAoQ98hsGVScmtG1MhVGmyjLCJnYWbzxVk-9Ze6S-Te5y7vMa-lutN9nCgMVXSB7L52MgmUrs/s400/IMG_8833.jpg" width="338" /></a></div>
For this card, I reversed the plain and patterned paper and created a swag using the stamps from the Candy Cane Collection Beautiful Boughs. The JOY die is from the same collection. Less busy and better balance, I think.<br />

Good morning, crafty peeps!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
How awesome is today? <b> </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>World Card-making Day,</b> celebrating the kindness and creativity reflected in our hobby.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As I scan through my blog feed, I'm seeing several blog hops commemorating the occasion with very worthy causes. Check out <a href="http://www.laurelbeard.org/hello-world-blog-hop-good-cause-giveaway" target="_blank">HERE</a> and <a href="http://mprantner.blogspot.ca/2016/10/winnie-walter-worldcardmaking-day-blog.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Today also appropriately marks the kick-off for <b>The Caring Hearts Drive 2016.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm attaching details from <a href="http://lingshappyplace.blogspot.ca/p/caring-hearts-card-drive-2016.html" target="_blank">Vera Yates' post</a>. There's lots to read, so grab a beverage, sit back and read on... </div>

2016 marks the 7th year for our annual Caring Hearts Card Drive. Its purpose is to collect hand-made holiday greeting cards for the elderly living in nursing homes. The card drive was begun in 2010, to honor Vera's mom's request. That first year, 750 cards were collected; each year since, the drive has grown. Last year, over 22,000 cards were received and distributed to 96 nursing homes in the States, 15 in Australia, 16 in Canada.
The drive creators, Vera Yates and Jennifer McGuire, are excited to continue bringing holiday cheer. This year, the drive is branching out to the United Kingdom. </div>

<div class="_2cuy _3dgx _2vxa" style="text-align: justify;">
The holidays are about family, kindness, and joy. During this time of year, many elderly nursing-home residents can feel lonely, missing their families. What better way to bring a smile to their faces & brighten their holiday season, than by sharing our love of card making? A simple gesture letting them know that they are not forgotten, that someone still thinks of them.
We all love making cards and what’s better than knowing that our creations have brought a smile? </div>

<li>The card drive runs from <b>October 1 to November 25, 2016</b>. Your cards need to be received by November 25, 2015, so plan accordingly when sending them in. </li>
<li> Please make the cards for <b>Christmas or Holiday Wishes</b>. (For those sending cards within Canada, French sentiments are appreciated, too.) Anyone can send a card, your children, church groups, scout troops, etc. </li>
<li>All cards must have a <b>message inside</b> (it can be stamped or hand written) from the sender. Please <b>sign your name</b> and include <b>where you are from</b>. Part of the fun for the recipients is receiving cards from different part of the country and the world!</li>
<li>Please <b>include an envelope</b> for each card and please don't seal the envelope. </li>
<li>Cards should be <b>standard size</b> (A2 or 4-1/4" x 5-1/2") as this helps in packing them more efficiently.</li>
<li>Please don't use any pins (for safety reason). Glitter and glitz on the other hand, most welcome! </li>

<li>This next is totally optional, but if you'd like to include $1 or $2 to help with shipping, it is much appreciated. We cover the shipping costs ourselves, without sponsorship, so any donation toward shipping helps tremendously.

Each card you send, enters you into a draw for a chance to win a gift. And there are many to be won :) So the more cards you send, the better your chances. </li>
<li> To help us promote the card drive, whenever you're sharing your projects for Caring Hearts on social media, please use the hashtag <a class="_58cn" data-ft="{"tn":"*N","type":104}" href="https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/caringheartscarddrive?source=note" target="_blank">#caringheartscarddrive</a>. This drive represents part of the creators' wider goal to spread kindness and make it a trend.</li>
<li>The nursing homes that we support are based on those people suggest to us. If you would like your local nursing home to receive cards from the card drive, please email Vera or Jennifer, providing the names of the nursing homes and the number of residents, so we can make sure that we send enough cards. Each year, the number of nursing homes we can support is based on the number of cards received. </li>
<li> The prize list will be updated as more prizes come in. And huge thank you to all the fabulous, generous companies who support this card drive by donating awesome prizes. See the complete list on <a href="http://lingshappyplace.blogspot.ca/2016/10/caring-hearts-card-drive-2016.html" target="_blank">Vera's blog</a>.</li>
<li>A new feature this year is a <b>Caring Hearts Card Drive stamp set!</b> The generous people at Sugar Pea Designs have created a whole line of goodies to help spread kindness. 20% of all sales from this collection will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association. There is a blog hop to introduce the set, with yet more prizes up for grabs. Happy hump-day, crafty peeps!</div>

Just three more sleeps until World Card-Making Day!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Which is also the launch of this year's Caring Hearts Card Drive. More details on that on Saturday.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In the meantime, I'm adding to the Christmas card stash, playing along with this week's <a href="http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.ca/2016/09/still-time-to-play-with-challenge-215.html" target="_blank">Merry Monday challenge</a>:</div>

using the non-traditional colours of dark & light pink and grey or silver.</div>

I used a cut-away card design I say on Stamp Nation's latest blog hop, by <a href="http://thecreativegrove.com/candy-cane-lane-blog-hop/" target="_blank">Ingrid Blackburn</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
A portion of the card is cut-away, and the top and bottom parts are connected by some silvery snowflakes. The pink watercolour dot paper is from the new Close to My Heart Whimsy Fundamentals paper pack. I thought it looked like softly falling pink snow! The card base is Raspberry cardstock. Snow flake dies by My Favorite Things.</div>

Post #2 for today.<br />
<br />
It's been quite awhile since I played along with any challenges. <br />
<br />
I used this week's <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.ca/2016/09/freshly-made-sketches-255-sketch-by-amy.html" target="_blank">Freshly Made Sketch</a> #255, to consume some more supplies for ever-growing stack of Christmas cards.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV1dso6gH3MjiQVfl9WUyJpwM35OJ1RfzavJvNGHtHS7IhxbZ4P_CEhkUU0to0Z0ah0u-GWL9uOv5LNAD7bp8k9xI7d4s3686oFH6m_ON8xoODvJ_skTYm7T2pbDDAFiQQwEwStlLBxKM/s1600/FMS%252BFinal%252B255-001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV1dso6gH3MjiQVfl9WUyJpwM35OJ1RfzavJvNGHtHS7IhxbZ4P_CEhkUU0to0Z0ah0u-GWL9uOv5LNAD7bp8k9xI7d4s3686oFH6m_ON8xoODvJ_skTYm7T2pbDDAFiQQwEwStlLBxKM/s400/FMS%252BFinal%252B255-001.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The big rectangle in the sketch seemed perfect for some festive plaid paper (old SU), and I've been wanting to play with those cute little gingerbread people (<a href="https://www.lilinkerdesigns.com/christmas-bits-die-set/" target="_blank">Lil' Inker Designs</a>) for quite some time. Adding a little Copic marker around the edge of the kraft paper made them nice and "crispy."<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinoZj_XR8aK_Ryu8PrL0vjNAzwz0FvjrDdD9W8fJOMdgg8kutIuoY7-BIVTG3e2BMLvx0LSJ_VgictQoSYFcqzlUCEZO4B6Vl3oRH2tnFslkWradKaQwP-4cEamKrgtIP4FO-kRQaEfpo/s1600/IMG_8825.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="582" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinoZj_XR8aK_Ryu8PrL0vjNAzwz0FvjrDdD9W8fJOMdgg8kutIuoY7-BIVTG3e2BMLvx0LSJ_VgictQoSYFcqzlUCEZO4B6Vl3oRH2tnFslkWradKaQwP-4cEamKrgtIP4FO-kRQaEfpo/s640/IMG_8825.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Finding a font which would fit between the parts of the sentiment (<a href="https://www.lilinkerdesigns.com/jolly-joyful-sentiments/" target="_blank">also LID, currently on sale!)</a>) was tricky. The word JOY was cut with an old set of Sizzix alphabet dies. Their wonky angles inspired the cart-wheeling gingerbread men.<br />
There's still a few hours to play along with <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.ca/2016/09/freshly-made-sketches-255-sketch-by-amy.html" target="_blank">FMS</a> this week!<br />

Hello crafty peeps!<br />
It's been a long while since I shared anything, although I <i>have</i> done some scrap-booking, card-making and sewing in the past few months, along with a lot of browsing of internet crafting blogs... Just no time to photograph and write about my own creations.<br />
But all that is about to change, because the advent of fall means that a cause near and dear to my heart is about to begin again.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The <b>Caring Hearts Card Drive</b> is about to start its seventh year :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvWNa8pEIQDx73yq3PZShhfQcp4BmYSvaqkYmx3exXPoRIqTq6h5RQqPkqKhtlXWQ8GdtuHrY4czEYUzUKqFgRBtoecrNWkFBKpqEbJlsfadWMDA5t-yETkbpOvRexocH1N5tgzi6YsZk/s1600/Caring+Hearts+2016+Logo.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="217" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvWNa8pEIQDx73yq3PZShhfQcp4BmYSvaqkYmx3exXPoRIqTq6h5RQqPkqKhtlXWQ8GdtuHrY4czEYUzUKqFgRBtoecrNWkFBKpqEbJlsfadWMDA5t-yETkbpOvRexocH1N5tgzi6YsZk/s320/Caring+Hearts+2016+Logo.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
This "sharing of kindness" was begun by <a href="http://lingshappyplace.blogspot.ca/" target="_blank">Vera Wirianta Yates</a> in Texas. She began sending hand-made Christmas cards to nursing home residents, to brighten their holiday season. Many cards (22,000 in 2015), volunteers and years later, the movement has spread from the US to Canada, Australia, and now through the UK, to Europe.<br />
The drive begins officially October 1st (also World Card-Making Day!) and runs through November 25th. I will be sharing sneak peeks of cards I've been working on leading up to the launch next weekend. I will also share the complete list of details on how to participate. You are welcome to make cards, as well as to help in their distribution.<br />
<br />
I like to start the Christmas card-making season by clearing up my desk and using up supplies (yup, not allowed to buy <u>anything</u> new until I've made a couple dozen cards with the goodies on hand).<br />
This year I began with a partly-used kit from 2010 by <a href="http://www.paperwishes.com/" target="_blank">Paper Wishes</a>. One of their specialty items is a line of stickers called <a href="http://www.paperwishes.com/categories/dazzlestrade-craft-stickers-63.html" target="_blank">Dazzles</a>. You might think, they don't look like TOO much on the sticker sheet, but once you begin backing them with patterned paper, colouring them in with Copics or Distress inks, altering them with embossing powder or alcohol inks, they look AWESOME! I feel every holiday card needs a little sparkle, and the foiling on Dazzles does just that.<br />
Here's a couple of examples from that kit:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHU6DdCZphcKMbN0y1TSKpDL6aG7J5HcQ8Xcpx2it2XArvmYNyOdFuOKoMdOSzyFeEsFGhhRUPz1OJt_7utzHqlw7Xux6f9EYb9cm7IgpbF5r0WNOzSRAfYHWABWQ8fvTknRC80V_tWB4/s1600/IMG_8809.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHU6DdCZphcKMbN0y1TSKpDL6aG7J5HcQ8Xcpx2it2XArvmYNyOdFuOKoMdOSzyFeEsFGhhRUPz1OJt_7utzHqlw7Xux6f9EYb9cm7IgpbF5r0WNOzSRAfYHWABWQ8fvTknRC80V_tWB4/s640/IMG_8809.jpg" width="482" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
See what I mean by creating a scene, colouring in the Dazzles, and adding some extra glitz with sequins, Liquid Pearls and Stickles?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi68m8zk7hAY095Ko0EhyphenhyphenAIPE_-PBu9W_BQqM-KRLIpI7fyNMZlkuqwi1qoA6XkwFZkrBiRtCuvkiDtPEPHxofjJCuxFONHkFL9I991dE7PPzUxASl7Gz22-EGx__JrGaABNSDwPaTq0RQ/s1600/IMG_8813.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi68m8zk7hAY095Ko0EhyphenhyphenAIPE_-PBu9W_BQqM-KRLIpI7fyNMZlkuqwi1qoA6XkwFZkrBiRtCuvkiDtPEPHxofjJCuxFONHkFL9I991dE7PPzUxASl7Gz22-EGx__JrGaABNSDwPaTq0RQ/s640/IMG_8813.jpg" width="515" /></a></div>
The <a href="http://www.paperwishes.com/products/4110461" target="_blank">snowflake holographic paper</a> from Paper Wishes sets off those snow-peeps perfectly. And check out the (craft-foam) "snow," for some tactile fun.<br />
<br />
Off to do some Sunday stuff; stayed tuned for more on the Caring Hearts Card Drive.<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Good morning crafty peeps!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Missing in action again for MONTHS, but happily, I received an invitation from Michelle Stewart to join with other alumni of the <a href="http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.ca/2016/04/top-3-for-sketch-155-and-design-team.html" target="_blank">Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I am posting for Sketch #156 .</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO9ehAiQbz-8k6FhT_Adz4hi8SJ1W-rAQQ_FWBYQ_zdEE-KStT-d4ewTTgGlzPnvHnB3IlSmuC1O-fJkohbSGyDHz4O7qTGKRi4ISN0FpNSA2gwoOIzLiOdEzdJQnA6r3C5iZivTalvKOA/s1600/12622433_678027902338054_8757640441744113189_o.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO9ehAiQbz-8k6FhT_Adz4hi8SJ1W-rAQQ_FWBYQ_zdEE-KStT-d4ewTTgGlzPnvHnB3IlSmuC1O-fJkohbSGyDHz4O7qTGKRi4ISN0FpNSA2gwoOIzLiOdEzdJQnA6r3C5iZivTalvKOA/s400/12622433_678027902338054_8757640441744113189_o.jpg" width="265" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
I used the paperpack <a href="http://carolinescreations.ctmh.com/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=9071&ci=3883" target="_blank">Regatta</a> and <a href="http://carolinescreations.ctmh.com/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=9120" target="_blank">stamp set</a> with coordinating <a href="http://carolinescreations.ctmh.com/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=9098" target="_blank">Thin-cut dies</a>, all from Close to My Heart, to make a sweet nautical-themed card. I heat-embossed the anchor die-cut with metallic silver.<br />

The message inside says, "you are my anchor". Another quick card for hubby's suitcase when he travels to Vancouver later this week.<br />
Short and sweet; I hope to get to some more paper-crafting this weekend.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In the meantime, swing on over to <a href="http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.ca/2016/04/top-3-for-sketch-155-and-design-team.html" target="_blank">Atlantic Hearts</a> and see the other entries. Then try your hand at this week's sketch!<br />

Happy crafting,</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Big smooches to you, my fabulous crafty friends!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My first posting of the New Year. It's been a busy month so far. My job as a speech-language pathologist ended just before Christmas, but this semester, I'm teaching a course on stuttering. I was a last-minute replacement, so I've been scrambling to get the materials ready.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But I couldn't resist this week's sketch from <a href="http://www.freshlymadesketches.blogspot.ca/2016/01/freshly-made-sketches-219-sketch-by.html" target="_blank">Freshly Made Sketches</a>.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJ6Byr_fWDReChAGuCzybuOISyMqoyqqgUO9Cv1A9KPWi8q81g8YwMcAoCHJe5kIZFWN19r6jFBbTfhqBR9AsXyPXxxbafTXh_NsQ3vp51RknbxZrKPoY1yDJnBpUubpsREENKzew125c/s1600/FMS+%2523219.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJ6Byr_fWDReChAGuCzybuOISyMqoyqqgUO9Cv1A9KPWi8q81g8YwMcAoCHJe5kIZFWN19r6jFBbTfhqBR9AsXyPXxxbafTXh_NsQ3vp51RknbxZrKPoY1yDJnBpUubpsREENKzew125c/s320/FMS+%2523219.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Cindy's original design was for a gate-fold card, so I decided to go with that to create invitations to my neighbours and sisters for a ladies' pampering evening later this month.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's my version:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4Ppyr3adtiO-d0y1RDVjGj9M8g32yS9CrF6Mn4OzzMgSOFwb1J85ZsZU-_AlhYu_k2EzCJQGqjN1z8SQixKL2CkXO3H-PbT43zYf26l4ZjoEUlLlpI0xHktjklD-ZVtUXGDBgUvfoP_Y/s1600/IMG_8798.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="335" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4Ppyr3adtiO-d0y1RDVjGj9M8g32yS9CrF6Mn4OzzMgSOFwb1J85ZsZU-_AlhYu_k2EzCJQGqjN1z8SQixKL2CkXO3H-PbT43zYf26l4ZjoEUlLlpI0xHktjklD-ZVtUXGDBgUvfoP_Y/s400/IMG_8798.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And here's what the card looks like as it opens up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtT7yHW3ISkD6soC4R1GXQhs5NF8ypnaG7ZEwKaaf0r33HzkM-3WA8zonXaQp929rPLK5FZSSq9UD1NUPmK5yUpUGaJ1_1_5-AxeXvA9VvI0Le7nup77Sz0ClejAHLTHe22SL6WJN560k/s1600/IMG_8803.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="327" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtT7yHW3ISkD6soC4R1GXQhs5NF8ypnaG7ZEwKaaf0r33HzkM-3WA8zonXaQp929rPLK5FZSSq9UD1NUPmK5yUpUGaJ1_1_5-AxeXvA9VvI0Le7nup77Sz0ClejAHLTHe22SL6WJN560k/s400/IMG_8803.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPpyOnZGTZMqtoLC_wUZtK95aVLZcj76Rl_pdsjwIY5dIfz7yVXmfFcz-Mo8oW8YrjRXbAWthUO98nhwOAuHwmXVh1CQ_RYU0o-Zxl_WC06JY87i-Z8IgDjPoaD1m5wgXqzFyATTxPBOo/s1600/IMG_8801.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="278" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPpyOnZGTZMqtoLC_wUZtK95aVLZcj76Rl_pdsjwIY5dIfz7yVXmfFcz-Mo8oW8YrjRXbAWthUO98nhwOAuHwmXVh1CQ_RYU0o-Zxl_WC06JY87i-Z8IgDjPoaD1m5wgXqzFyATTxPBOo/s400/IMG_8801.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used an older Stampin' Up set with FABULOUS images to create the right-side design, repeatedly stamping the lipstick image in subtle CTMH Slate ink,<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMKaCAB9Hg-no-mwGazwV5MbUwXqH22oekzygCgji7UX_WPKbh-oxcGSBcoWvbLACIMK7hlX_JserMA4veUfxKCjy2tFSO5rKBHLIVGdN39JfL7hXNtV9QUGuU_dW57ydh_Fr63vfGdDw/s1600/IMG_8804.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMKaCAB9Hg-no-mwGazwV5MbUwXqH22oekzygCgji7UX_WPKbh-oxcGSBcoWvbLACIMK7hlX_JserMA4veUfxKCjy2tFSO5rKBHLIVGdN39JfL7hXNtV9QUGuU_dW57ydh_Fr63vfGdDw/s320/IMG_8804.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
I coloured one of the images for the inside, using Copic markers.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4Eu9vhoQxdwoNSKCa1M4NGxMeC6xedDUJhrRf9IQmgFirjnTyGVRHOb4FRFhCloXTaPfMJSfzBzhc1YlCWbgLt7hY3jihh6u2p17lwp7phsY7jSrn5Y_hMX_DnIAjY2TeSALBoTTKSmU/s1600/IMG_8802.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4Eu9vhoQxdwoNSKCa1M4NGxMeC6xedDUJhrRf9IQmgFirjnTyGVRHOb4FRFhCloXTaPfMJSfzBzhc1YlCWbgLt7hY3jihh6u2p17lwp7phsY7jSrn5Y_hMX_DnIAjY2TeSALBoTTKSmU/s400/IMG_8802.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
The smooch is a Lil'Inker Designs stamp, inked in CTMH Pomegranate, and embossed with clear shiny powder for some shine. The sentiment stamps are LID, as well.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hope your New Year is off to a FABULOUS start.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Stay crafty,</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Caroline</div>
