Ewe Herd Me...

Hey there!
I'm sharing a lay-out I completed at the scrap-booking retreat I attended in January with my girlfriends in Wisconsin. It features photos from a sheepdog demonstration we saw in Prince Edward Island last summer.
I HAD to include one of the cute lil' puppies from Paper Smooches "Woofers & Tweeters" stamp and die set as an accent on my page. It was the perfect finishing touch, and it works for this week's
Which has the theme:
Here's a look a the complete page:
The shepherdess (?) trains her dogs to herd ducks before they graduate to herding sheep. The ducks were hilarious! Trying to run here, there and everywhere, but no match for the dog.
The companion page still needs some journaling, and some more paw prints, don't you think?
The Wednesday challenge theme over at Simon Says Stamp is also to use creatures, so I'll be linking this up over there, too.
Enjoy your week,
Caroline

P.S.: Credit for the awesome page title goes to my friend the caption queen, Cathy H.

Supplies:
Close to My Heart: all patterned paper, card stock and ink
Paper Smooches: Woofers and Tweeters stamps and dies
The Stamps of Life: arrow die
Mama Elephant: alpha dies

Copic coloring #2

While the Copic Coloring for Card-Makers class is officially over, you can still sign up for all the instruction, videos, PDFs, etc. Online Card Classes archives the content, so you can view whenever you like, and as many times as you like.
One really fun lesson was on colouring critters!
Suggestions were given for creating effects for fur, fuzz, corduroy, etc.
I had particular fun colouring a dog to look like MY dog. He’s mostly white, with a little apricot around the ears.

He turned out so well (I think!), I had to cut him out and use him on a card…
Also feeling a little guilty, as he did not get to make the trip out to PEI (we flew instead of driving, given the short visit). I added a little Liquid Glass to his eyes and nose.
Next summer, buddy!
Off to catch up with life, after a lovely four-day weekend...

A Helping...Hand... yeah, right! Dynamic Duos #78

Time for a "Subtly Yours" color combo from the Dynamic Duos Color Challenge:

These soft colours called for a more whimsical card this week. Luckily, there is lots of inspiration at home...
Yes, he's been known to help himself to socks and other unmentionables... He gets his own stocking at Christmas, though. Kinda like this:

I took a class last week from Krista Schneider, on using Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils. Lots of fun! Here, the stamped image is coloured with pencils, then softened with a Dove blender, then further details added with the pencils again. The snap-shot frame and sentiment come from Lil'Inker Designs. That sock stamp is from Paper Smooches, coloured to match the card.

Now that you've admired that card, here's the reject! I tried to make a snow-globe using Flower Soft, but it was an epic fail... I do like the look of the pencils on a coloured background paper, though.
Here's the deets on how to play:

The challenge ends on Thursdays at Noon (PDT).  Just a few rules to keep things fun and fair!
  1. Any project is welcome...paper crafts, scrapbooking, digital, or crafts...
  2. Please ONLY use the two colours listed for your project. Neutrals are welcome.
  3. Combine us with as many other challenges as you would like, except other colour challenges.
  4. Please add our graphic to your blog with a link back to us.
  5. Any offensive or inappropriate posts will be deleted respectively.

Would love to see you take the challenge this week!
 Happy Crafting!
Caroline
