Merry...Wednesday :)

Happy hump-day, crafty peeps!
Just three more sleeps until World Card-Making Day!
Which is also the launch of this year's Caring Hearts Card Drive.  More details on that on Saturday.
In the meantime, I'm adding to the Christmas card stash, playing along with this week's Merry Monday challenge:
using the non-traditional colours of dark & light pink and grey or silver.
I used a cut-away card design I say on Stamp Nation's latest blog hop, by  Ingrid Blackburn.
A portion of the card is cut-away, and the top and bottom parts are connected by some silvery snowflakes.  The pink watercolour dot paper is from the new Close to My Heart Whimsy Fundamentals paper pack. I thought it looked like softly falling pink snow! The card base is Raspberry cardstock. Snow flake dies by My Favorite Things.
Inside message appropriately sparkly, from Winter Greetings stamp set by Lil'Inker Designs.

Still lots of time to link up with the Merry Monday Challenge #215
See you there,
Caroline

Freshly-Made Sketches and Freshly Falling Snow...

Good morning!
We are enjoying temperatures above zero today.
But the white stuff is on its way...
This is one of the final cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive. Inspiration for the water-colour panel from Heather Telford's card class.
I used Freshly-Made Sketches' design #164
After heat-embossing the Stampin' Up snowflakes on white cardstock, I added Distress inks in Tumbled Glass, Evergreen Bough and Salty Ocean. Then flicked on some Perfect Pearls mist and plain ol' water. I subbed in some cascading sequins for the ribbon on the sketch.

Hope you fit some crafting into your day,
Caroline

Its Black Tie Attire at Dynamic Duos this week

Good morning, crafty friends.
Time for another two-colour challenge at Dynamic Duos. The "black and ..." is one of my favorite weeks:
Black and silver are so suitable as we head into the darkest month of the year. Well, the one with the shortest days, anyway!
I chose not to go with the dessert option per se, but I did make a winter card with several layers of CTMH grey (Slate, Grey Flannel and Whisper).
The silver comes in with the heat-embossed greeting, and that delicious stitched snowflake die cut from silver linen paper. Serious sparkle! A few stamped snowflakes on the inside, and done.
❄❄❄❄❄
So are you up to the Black Tie challenge?
Head on over to The Dynamic Duos blog for some beautiful samples from our DT.

Here are the guidelines to join in the fun:
  1. Any project is welcome...paper crafts, scrap-booking, digital, or crafts...
  2. Please ONLY use the two colours listed for your project. Neutrals are welcome.
  3. Combine us with as many other challenges as you would like, except other colour challenges.
  4. Please add our graphic to your blog with a link back to us.
  5. Any offensive or inappropriate posts will be deleted respectively.
